Sewickely StoryWalk August 7 - 28

The Sewickley Public Library and its community partners are celebrating the end of summer with a brand new Sewickley StoryWalk session this August. These self-guided walking tours allow visitors to enjoy nature while reading a story as they stroll.

Different picture book stories are featured at each StoryWalk site. The upcoming session features stories focused on summer, kindness and back-to-school themes.  At Allegheny Land Trust – Audubon Greenway, visitors can enjoy reading Every Color by Erin Eitter Kono. Visitors to Fern Hollow Nature Center can read The Day You Begin by Jacqueline Woodson, while at Henle Park, visitors can enjoy All Welcome Here by James Preller. Visitors to Mary Roberts Rinehart Nature Park can read School’s First Day of School by Adam Rex. At Ohio Township Nature Center visitors can enjoy the book, Hank’s Big Day, The Story of a Bug by Evan Kulman. And at the Edgeworth Elementary location, readers can enjoy I Got the School Spirt by Connie Schofield-Morrison.

While you are visiting one of the six StoryWalk locations, pick up a StoryWalk Passport. Fill out the passport with the title and location of three StoryWalks you visit and drop it off at the Children’s Department for a chance to be entered in a drawing that will be held on October 16, after the fall StoryWalk.

The late-summer Sewickley StoryWalk runs from August 7-28, 2022.
