At the moment, health care is often one-size-fits-all. But imagine a future where your health treatments are tailored to you. That’s the goal of the All of Us Research Program. Sewickley Public Library is partnering with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) on the All of Us Pennsylvania Research Program to help make that future possible.

What is the All of Us Research Program? The mission of All of Us is simple: to speed up health research. The All of Us Research Program is an ambitious effort to gather health data from one million or more people living in the United States to accelerate research that may improve health.

To do this, you are invited to join one million or more people who will share their unique health data (including electronic health records and data collected through online surveys). This information will be added to a database. Researchers can then access this data to conduct thousands of studies on health and disease.

Why should you join? You’ll contribute to research that may improve health for generations to come. There’s no one exactly like you. Your unique health data may help researchers find the next big medical breakthrough. Participation in All of Us is simple and enrollment is taking place in the library’s Community Room on August 1st. You can learn more and make your appointment by going to joinallofuspa.org or by calling 412-383-2737.

Before your appointment, you will complete a series of health surveys and consents. During your on-site appointment, the All of Us team will be available to answer any questions and assist with your registration and collect basic physical measurements, and you may be asked to provide a blood and urine sample and consent to sharing your electronic health records. Once these steps are completed, you will receive a $25 gift card in appreciation of your time and effort. By joining the All of Us Research Program, you could help change the future of health.
