The Sewickley Public Library is excited to announce the launch of a new Job and Career Resources website. The launch of the new resource page also coincides with the addition of Cypress Resume, an online resume building tool available to Western Pennsylvania jobseekers and Sewickley Library users.
The Sewickley Public Library Adult Reference Department, headed by Assistant Director Lynne Schneider, has experienced a steady demand for these types of resources by job seekers, those both new to the workforce and recently unemployed.
Sewickley’s new Job and Career page can be found at: https://sewickleylibrary.org/jobs/ . The resource page features information about: Recent Job Postings, Resume and Cover Letter Writing, Career Research, Test Preparation, Education, Interview Skills, and Networking. Resources include links to print and audio visual materials in the library, vetted free online resources, and library provided resources. Library provided resources include: Cypress Resume, Testing and Education Reference Center, and Tutor.com.
Cypress Resume is a new online tool that helps patrons effortlessly create a professional resume in just a few minutes. Its easy-to-use format save time that would be spent formatting a resume. Simply plug in basic information (as little or as much as you’d like), and Cypress Resume creates a perfectly formatted document to help give patrons with few computer skills an advantage. The resource can be accessed at the Library or at home using a Sewickley Library card.
Testing and Education Reference Center (TERC) features a resume builder and Virtual Career Library. TERC includes test prep resources for high school, college, grad school, and career oriented testing. Practice tests include: GRE, SAT, ACT, LSAT, MCAT, Nursing, Civil Service, and many more.
Tutor.com still offers 1 on 1 homework help but this resource now offers the Skills Center Resource Library that features: study, test prep, and career resources. Tutor.com also features a 24 Hour Resume Drop Off, where users can upload a resume and receive detailed feedback from a qualified reviewer within 24 hours.
