Tails & Tales: Animal Sketchbook Project

June 7 – August 7, 2021

Calling all artists and doodlers to a summer sketchbook swap!

All-ages are invited to check out a sketchbook from the library for two-weeks and fill it with your drawings of animals, insects, monsters or magical creatures. Draw as much as you want! You can return it to the library after the two-week period and check out another sketchbook (if desired). The end result will be a playful cross-section of art and animal observations from the whole community! We’ll share some of our favorite drawings at the end of the summer.

The basics about the books…

We hope these sketchbooks encourage artistic freedom and expression and offer a sense of community to participants and viewers. For this project, we ask that drawings be of animals/creatures, but feel free to embellish with elaborate backgrounds and settings.

We hope it goes without saying, but just to be sure we’ll say it – absolutely no depictions of obscenities/nudity/graphic images may be included. Please and thank you.
We also ask that you do not alter, destroy, or remove others artwork.

If you have questions, please contact our Reference Librarians at 412-741-6920, ext 3.

Pick up your sketchbook in the Children’s or Adult Departments!
