Mobile HotSpot

The Sewickley Public Library now offers free mobile hotspots to our patrons.

The hotspot is an easy to use device that connects your tablet, laptop and other WiFi enabled device to the Internet. These devices are perfect for travel, schoolwork, job hunting, and more. The library currently offers 7 mobile wireless hotspots for checkout.

Hotspot Internet service is provided by T-Mobile with unlimited data at 4G LTE speeds. 3G is available internationally. Up to 15 devices may be connected to the Hotspot at once. If you are traveling outside of the Sewickley area, please check the T-Mobile coverage map for your destination.

ELIGIBILITY

A Hotspot may be checked out by any Sewickley Public Library user with a valid library card.

LOAN PERIOD & CHECKOUT

Hotspots are available on a first-come, first-served basis.  Hotspots circulate for a 7-day loan period (no renewals). Only one Hotspot may be borrowed by a patron at a time. Hotspots must be checked out in person at the Sewickley Public Library reference desk. Each Hotspot unit circulates in a case with a micro-USB cord, AC charger with USB port.

RETURNS

Overdue Hotspots will be charged $1.00 per day. Hotspots not returned after 30 days will be assumed-lost and charged the replacement cost of $60. Hotspots must be returned at the circulation desk or reference desk, not in a book drop or at another library. Patrons will be responsible for damage to the item if it is returned via the book drop.

LOST OR DAMAGED HOTSPOT

The charge for a lost Hotspot is $60. A lost or damaged cord, bag, or charger will charged at current market replacement cost.

INTERNET USE

Hotspot users are required to abide by the rules set in the Sewickley Public Library’s Internet Access, Safety and Use Policy.
