Explore all Southwestern PA has to offer when you check out our 2021 Experience Kits. In partnership with Allegheny County libraries, the Sewickley Public Library is circulating passes to nearby museums and historical sites that offer free admission for up to four people. Each season offers new sites to visit, so there’s always some place new to check out.
Three new sites have been announced for 2021! They include:
- Quecreek Mine Rescue Site,
- Zelienople Historical Society (Passavant House)
- Captain William Vicary Mansion.
Kits for these sites will begin circulating in June 2021.
Since 2020 restrictions prohibited many visitors from taking advantage of this valuable program, several site kits from last year are going to be available once again for the 2021 season. Sites include:
- Heinz History Center
- Lincoln Highway Experience
- McKeesport Heritage Center
- PA Trolley Museum
These kits are available now!
Experience kits from SPL are checked-out for one week at a time (Wednesday to Tuesday). Each kit can be reserved for the exact week you need it – reservations are first come, first served. We recommend you call the site to confirm operating hours, specific health and safety policies, and/or time reservation requirements before your trip.
Before you go, explore the museum’s “virtual experience kit!” Discover what you might see during your visit, learn more about the history of the site, and find other fun things to do in the area while you’re there. Images and text in this virtual kit are “clickable,” and will direct you to external sites! Find links to the virtual experience kits here.
