Sewickley Public Library is pleased to announce it was awarded a grant from the Valley Care Foundation to enhance library resources, services, and programming for older adults in the community.

Through this grant, the Library can expand outreach and programming for older adults while strengthening collections and resources designed to meet their evolving needs. The award also advances key priorities in the Library’s Strategic Plan, including strengthening programming that promotes healthy aging for the region’s growing older adult population and enhancing adult services to foster meaningful in-person connection.

Funding will support the development of accessible materials for seniors, resources for individuals living with dementia and their caregivers, as well as technology learning tools that help patrons build confidence with everyday digital skills.

“We are grateful to the Valley Care Foundation for investing in programs that help older adults stay connected and continue learning,” says Dustin Shilling, Head of Adult Services at the Sewickley Public Library. “This support allows us to build on our commitment to serving community members at every stage of life while advancing the vision outlined in our Strategic Plan.”

As these efforts develop, Sewickley Public Library looks forward to creating more opportunities for older adults to connect with others, build skills, and continue active participation in the community.
