Panel from Johno Prascak "Carnegie Steel-Homestead Works 1926"

The Sewickley Public Library is honored to be installing an eight-canvas panoramic painting by local artist Johno Prascak entitled Carnegie Steel-Homestead Works 1926 into the reference department of the library this month. You may recognize Johno’s work from other Pittsburgh institutions where various pieces are on permanent display including PNC Park, Heinz Field, and even Sarris candy boxes.

Watch for additional programming surrounding the art including a meet and greet with the artist himself, and an exploration of the history of the Pittsburgh Steel era that is so closely tied to the origins of Sewickley. These pieces are on loan but are for sale to interested art collectors with 15% of the sale to benefit the library. Inquiries should be directed to Michelle Cleary in the library’s development office.
