Thinking of donating gently used books?

The Friends of the Sewickley Library sponsors annual book sales of gently used books, CDs, DVDs and audio books.  They are once again accepting donations beginning Monday, April 4th which may be dropped off at the circulation desk.  Receipts for donations are available upon asking.  Their sales are very successful because of the community’s generous donations, and all proceeds are used for the library’s programming and materials.

While the Friends love books, they cannot sell everything.  Books must be new or gently used.  They CANNOT sell books that are:

  • damaged in any way (including books that have been written in)
  • have any evidence of mold, mildew, smoke or other odors, dirt, dust, pet hair, water damage
  • books older than five years in these categories: medicine, health, finance, technology, or those containing scientific data that is outdated.

They do not sell: encyclopedias, books that were from of another library’s collection, National Geographic magazines or other magazines, VHS or music cassette tapes.

Thank you in advance for your donations and support of the library.
