Craft-lovers will delight in the Sewickley Public Library’s latest offering: a private, guided tour of the Fiberart International 2019 exhibit at Contemporary Craft in the Strip District. Contemporary Craft is a gallery space that offers cutting edge exhibitions focused on multicultural diversity and contemporary art.

Following the tour, enjoy a presentation by Louise Silk – a Fiberart International 2019 artist and author – who will speak about her “giant” blue jean piece in the gallery, how her process evolved, her well-known memory quilts, and why she uses recycled materials.

Participants can join the library in an optional lunch at a restaurant in the Strip District following the program. There is no fee to attend the program, though attendees will need to cover the cost of their lunch. Participants will meet at the gallery located at 2100 Smallman Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15222, by 10:00 a.m. Space for this program is limited to 10 attendees, with advanced registration required.

Register online here or call the library at 412-741-6920 to sign up.
