Summer vacation is a perfect time to catch up on your reading. As great as the feeling of turning the pages of your favorite novel may be, sometimes luggage or car space is limited. Maybe you just don’t have room to pack all 20 titles on your to-read list. Or perhaps the weight of all your hardbacks puts your checked luggage over the limit.

Luckily, the library has the perfect solution: ebooks! This space-saving option allows you to carry thousands of books, audiobooks & magazines with you where ever your journey takes you. All you need to get started is a library card and a portable device (phone, tablet, laptop, etc.).

How do you begin borrowing ebooks? Great question! A good place to start is by visiting the library’s website at sewickleylibrary.org/ebooks. There you will find links to our digital collections, including ebooks, magazines, movies & more.

There are two main ebook collections the library offers: OverDrive/Libby & Hoopla. Both provide thousands of materials and are easy-to-use. Can’t find the book you need in one of the collections? Try the other! There are some similarities and some differences to how they work. Check out the printable eTips Guide to these digital resources to learn about what you can borrow with each resources, how many items you can borrow, when items are available, etc.

As always, if you have questions about getting started with or using these resources, our staff is here to help. You can call us at 412-741-6920, message us or stop by the library and our staff will help you troubleshoot.
